In a unexpected collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Revealed

According to the formal announcement, "A strange encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the shadows." The plot presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.

The adventure concentrates on "peculiar tests and a fearsome enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Transformations

The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Bonus Material

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana together with numerous items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

This patch also introduces the game's third free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
